"Where the spirit does not work with the hand, there is no art." - Leonardo da Vinci
Every great design starts with a story, not one of chance, but of moments and experiences that shape how we see and create. The DVRGE backpack was no different.
The lines on the front panel aren’t random. They carry meaning. They represent movement, direction, and the moments when we choose which way to go.
The idea began in collaboration with the StudioFAR. A mood board was built by the Founder, Andy Lai, that captured energy, discipline, and the calm that follows physical effort, the kind of clarity that often comes after training. One of those moments inspired the “Y” pattern that defines the bag’s front. Its shape was first sparked by the way a martial arts uniform folds across the chest, simple, structured, and purposeful. From there, it evolved into a symbol of motion and decision, of crossing paths and moving forward.
Even the smallest details carry that same intention. The handles feature parallel stitching that nods to the craftsmanship found in the belt and lapels of the uniform.
Every time you pick up the DVRGE backpack, those lines are a quiet reminder that we all stand at intersections in life. Do we stay comfortable or step into something new? Hit snooze or get the workout in? Play it safe or take the leap?
The story behind this design isn’t about where it started. It’s about what it represents now: your journey, your choices, the moments when you decide to diverge.
“Let me fall if I must fall. The one I will become will catch me.”
