How many rips, tears, or holes have you experienced with your backpacks over the years? Chances are, those backpacks weren’t made with X-Pac Fabric.
Whether you do your training at the gym or across the globe as an athlete, you can’t settle for gear that’s not constructed with the most durable fabrics.
X-Pac fabric is our choice material for DVRGE’s travel backpacks for athletes. We’ll walk through what it’s made of, why we love it, and why you need it for your next trip.

What is X-Pac Fabric?
X-Pac fabric is a multi-layer, laminate fabric that’s lightweight, waterproof, and durable. It also features a patented X-Ply fibre reinforcement, making it ideal for performance gear.
In fact, the fabric is constructed using sailcloth technology and has many of the components of sailcloth, but re-engineered for bags. Keep in mind that a sailboat’s sail has to withstand immense pressure from the elements, like wind and water, without breaking down.

Why We Use X-Pac Fabric In Our Travel Backpacks
Athletes shouldn’t have to settle for torn fabric, mixed-up laundry, or poor organizational function in a backpack.
And X-Pac fabric keeps our customers from settling.
Our backpacks use two different kinds of X-Pac fabric to make our products as durable and long-lasting as possible:
-
X-Pac X50: This variety of X-Pac fabric is particularly resistant to tears and abrasions. It’s made with a trademarked 500D CORDURA® face fabric with a construction of 81% nylon and 19% polyester.
-
X-Pac VX21: The most popular X-Pac fabric type, the VX21 features a lower-stretch, waterproof construction with a slightly higher composition of polyester (60% nylon, 40% polyester). It also has 210-denier face fabric, which combines durability with lightweight performance.
Key Characteristics of X-Pac Fabric
Here’s what makes X-Pac fabric uniquely high-quality (and why we love it):
-
Reinforced: X-Pac fabric has a signature X-grid pattern that comprises layers of strengthening, polyester yarns to improve durability.
-
Durable: The signature X-ply fibers used in the fabric prevent significant stretching while maintaining higher weight capacities.
-
Sustainable: X-Pac fabric meets environmental and labor standards from both European and North American regulatory commissions. The brand strives to produce long-lasting fabrics with responsible materials in eco-friendly manufacturing facilities.
Is X-Pac Fabric Waterproof?
Yes, X-Pac is waterproof. DVRGE’s travel backpacks built with X-Pac Fabric are 100% waterproof. It protects your belongings from rain, spills, or even sweat from your dirty laundry.
